Abstract

This thematic issue is dedicated to public policies. It includes eleven Latin American articles, written by four men and nine women: two Chileans, two Colombians, two Argentines—one with three authors—one Brazilian, and four Mexicans, three from Guadalajara and one from Ciudad Juárez. It is a heterogeneous group of authors because they come from different spaces and with different problems. The állos, héteros, alius or alter here are not disastrous nor are they euphemisms, they are welcoming greetings for what is diverse and enriching; They are birds of good omen.
