Abstract

In the present article, a revisionist view of world trade is presented, we revisit the proposal of Flynn & Giráldez (1995) and Tutino (2016) about a decolonial look the development of the world economy and we provide data on how the kingdom the New Galicia located in the west of what was New Spain was inserted in trade between the New Spain and China since the sixteenth century. This decolonial look allows us to rethink the history of international relations in a non-eurocentric way and, therefore, to orient research and understanding of phenomena from a long term perspective.
