Currently, there are constant changes in the environment that represent challenges for the socio-legal systems that seek to guarantee the protection of fundamental rights. One way to achieve this goal is through the strengthening of the culture of peace. In this context, these topics are relevant from the international to the local level, since they are reflected in the interactions between people, institutions and societies in different areas of daily life. In this sense, the issue presents approaches made by professionals, academics, researchers and professors from a multidisciplinary perspective to the study of fundamental rights and the culture of peace, taking into account the close relationship between micro, meso and macro levels in the phenomena and problems of study, by collaborating in these approaches, perspectives that complement each other within the social sciences. These interests, concerns and analyses are materialized in the manuscripts that make up this issue, which address in particular the culture of peace from two different perspectives where the relationship between international guidelines and local efforts in this matter is made visible; Human and fundamental rights are linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); technological development is also taken up again to highlight new legal needs at an international level in terms of cybernetics and personal data protection. The topic of electoral abstentionism is also covered as a key element in the culture of peace and fundamental rights, while reflections on the penitentiary system are presented based on international recommendations.Downloads
