Abstract

The indicators of application and compliance with environmental regulations, called environmental management performance, allow tracking and monitoring of environmental standards linked to the state of resources and regulations of productive activity. Indicators are important for the sustainable use and management of environmental resources, and can guide the formulation of public policies by providing valuable information about the current state of the resources to be evaluated and the intensity and direction of possible changes. Having a system of indicators on the state and trends of sustainable development in the country, applicable at different levels and scales, must become an essential element for the generation of public policies. For this reason, in 2008 we evaluated part of the environmental institutional reality in the City of Villa María. We carried out an evaluation of the status of environmental management indicators, nine years after the previous one.
